Machine Icons 1.2.1 contains a set of icons for all Macs (as at June 1994), and some peripheral hardware. Some have been drawn from scratch, and some amended from System 7 (acknowledgements to Apple Computer). A full set of ICN#, icl4, icl8, ics#, ics4 and ics8 resoures are provided.
I've changed the format of presenting the icons in the version.
As before, some of these icons serve for more than one machine - ie:
Plus: Mac 128, Mac 512, SE, SE/30
Classic: Classic II, Performa 200
Colour Classic: Colour Classic II
II: IIx, IIfx
IIcx: IIci
However, as Apple seem to have adopted a new naming policy that they appear to be sticking to (at least until next month), the newer machines can be identified in their 'generic' series. These are the series I think the machines fall into:
I've added as many variations as I think are available. The "without lips" variation are those machines which have the auto-inject feature of earlier SuperDrives (basically anything before a Quadra 610/650).
UK readers (and viewers of Coronation Street) may know the "with lips" as "Lynne Perrie" machines.
If I've missed any machines out, or any of the above needs correction, please drop me a line and let me know!
Cut & Paste these icons as normal - if you don't understand, read on…
To use these files, simply highlight the icon, select "Get Info" from the Finder "File" menu (Command-I), click on the icon in the top left-hand corner of the information box, and "Copy" (Command-C). Repeat the process for the file you want to receive the icon and "Paste" (Command-V) rather than "Copy".
These icons are supplied on the new "Feed-a-Cat-for-a-Day&Postcard" ware basis. All you have to do is send enough money (any currency) to ensure that a cat at Sheffield Cat's Shelter can be fed for at least a day. The other half of the deal is that you send me a postcard of your home town. By all means send me an E-mail AS WELL, but I am trying to fill the study wall with postcards - so send one please!
A big thanks for everything donated so far. It has all gone to Sheffield Cat's Shelter - the oldest animal charity in the world.

Many thanks to everyone who has sent me a postcard or a donation - I've been very pleasantly suprised by the response. Thanks also to all the archive sites (particularly the Macgifts administrators) and BBSs who have helped to distribute Machine Icons around the world.
Many thanks are also due to Pete Holmes for his submission of the 80SC icon. Any other icons of peripherals will be gladly receieved.
